Debola Fawole

Adebola (Debola) Fawole is a teacher, researcher, educational consultant, administrator and writer. To begin with she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. Her Masters degree in Language and Communications Arts from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria followed. Debola also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Pretoria. Her PhD in Translation Studies and Linguistics is from the University of Limpopo, South Africa.  

Debola has served in several roles within the public service and academia. She functioned firstly in administration with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Aviation and the Nigeria Meteorological Agency.  Subsequently, she has held positions in academia at Glen High School, Pretoria, Department of English at the University of Zululand, and Richards Bay Christian School. Debola currently edits, tutors, and teaches English and Yoruba online.

Her research interest includes the use and teaching of English language in diverse cultural, linguistic, and professional environments. Debola is passionate about laying a solid foundation in language and communication for students by equipping teachers at all levels with the necessary tools to impact their students. Additionally, she has published articles in DHET accredited journals

As a child of God, she rejoices in His redeeming love. Moreover, Debola cherishes the opportunity the Lord has provided her to contribute to training Christian educators and teaching students from a Biblical worldview. An avid reader, poet and advocate for women and children related issues, she shares her perspective on her blog at I Bi Dem. She is married to Adefolarin (Fola), a medical doctor, and they have two children.
