Associate Schools

Associate schools form the mentoring leg of SAHCET. These are schools that agree to our Statement of Faith, Code of Ethics and Mentoring policies and procedures.

SAHCET’s vision is to produce Christ-centred, Biblical Word-based, Kingdom-minded, skilled mentees, who will fulfil their calling in the schools and communities of South Africa and Africa.

As such, discipleship and therefore mentoring forms an integral part of our programme. The involvement of local schools is vital to the success of the programme.

Schools found in the area where the student lives provide Mentoring and Work Integrated Learning. It is firstly an opportunity for teacher interns to follow their mentors as their mentors follow Christ (1 Cor. 11:1). In addition they can see theory put into practice. It further gives the teacher interns the opportunity to get hands-on, practical experience. This is in contrast to the theoretical experience from their studies.

It is important that students must be of benefit to their own community from the beginning of their studies. For this purpose they receive mentoring in their community. They need to learn how to make a difference in their community. Students’ involvement in their churches and in outreaches is a requirement.

Students must have a testimony of being born again. They must further be admitted to the BEd or on a pathway to the BEd. All students in association with SAHCET must be part of a mentorship programme at a school registered with SAHCET.

SAHCET’s mentoring policy requires the following of associate schools:
